Good afternoon readers. You may or not have notice a few different things this trip to my blog. First – you see a new banner with a new logo. Very snazzy – but your probably wondering what happened to the “wordpress.com” in my URL. Secondly – starting today, the new home of my blog is located at igreggor.com. I have become the proud of owner of this Domain – Thanks to the people at GoDaddy.com, so instead of typing in the full address – you can just point your browser to igreggor.com. Very exciting stuff right? Speaking of exciting, everyone know the weekend for professional in a montage of Bed Bath and Beyond, and getting stuff “done” around the house. For me – the weekend involves me getting to stay up late and watch TV and do absolute nothing. As I’m writing this – I’m basically in my the same clothes that I woke up in and I still have not showered. It’s an amazing feeling. The fact remains that after working long hours during the weekend – the weekend is still the same that it was in college – do nothing during the day, and drink at night. When your in the professional world, during the week night-caps don’t exists. You work long hours, and by the time to get home you are too tired to even watch 20/20. So my point? Stay in school as long as you can. Go for your PhD. Van Wilder should be your guide to life – if you want to enjoy your late twenties – stay in school. But don’t get me wrong – getting a nice paycheck every 2 weeks is like the carrot in front of your face. For a college kid who didn’t make alot of money during college – seeing a salary check in front of your eyes makes the pain go away. Of course – if you don’t have a family, and other expenses – that roughly relates into a nice trip to Newegg.com or the Apple Store every two weeks to blow your..paycheck..on a techy stuff. I’d much rather be poor with a whole lot of tech things than me rich with nothing techy. I mean – its a personal choice. If Bill Gates can waste 2.5 million on his cube at his new company, I sure as hell don’t see a problem is spending $80 on a MiniDVI Port and a Apple Keyboard at the Apple Store.

On to the techyness, there is not alot of news that is surrounding the tech world today. It must be like the great depression. Although one company that is trying to fight aganist it’s demise by Apple is RIM, where they have showing quick 10 second commericals of their new “iPhone Killer”, the Blackberry Storm. The Storm’s User Guide has been leaked on the internet. Many blogging sites have already had time to play around the test product, but this user’s guide is like the blowjob before sex for most geeks. For those you that have been living under a rock for the last 2 months, The Blackberry Storm is the first blackberry that is completely touch-screen. The keyboard, the screen, even RIM’s own version of the App Store. The phone is going to be on the Verizon network, and its rumored to only start at $99 with a new-two year activation. That would definitely bring some iPhone haters to the Blackberry. For me the choice is clear – the Blackberry isn’t fun to me. It’s all business. It’s like the girl that you date because her family is loaded and you get lots of perks because of it. The girl herself is as lifeless as the excitement you get from watching British porn (nope don’t got a link for that one, go search your self). On the on hand, the iPhone, is like the hot red dress girl you see at the bar, you know that you never have a chance one. It’s that girl that you know that you want to take out everyday and show off to your friends. For me – I’ll take the hot girl, because I enjoy excitement. You see – RIM has to figure out to reposition their product to appeal to a younger crowd. Everyone knows that Blackberries are for work, but RIM needs to show that their phones are fun. On the other side Apple needs to do the same – create an work environment for the iPhone for professionals. The 2.0 patch helped with the introduction of Exchange Push, but it still leaps behind RIM even though it dominated them in the Q4 results. If Apple could step it up – it would be able to leap int the top phone cell phone manufacturers. That’s pretty crazy considering Apple is a computer computer, not a cell phone company.

Speaking of computers, I really have not been into video games, since I cancelled my World of Warcraft before I started my full-time job – I recently got a chance to try our EA new game, Commander and Conquer: Red Alert 3. Red Alert was on the classic games of all time, which was one my first Real Time Strategy game I’ve played almost 10 years ago. The funny thing with this game – sort of likely it’s other games – is the same game is pretty much an interactive movie. With none other than, get ready for this, Jenny McCarthy as the lead role. The cast of actors that in this movie ranges from characters from Lost, Burn After Reading, Prison Break, and my favorite The O.C. The ladies of Red Alert 3 – are outstanding, and not with their acting skills. It’s the first time, since Tomb Raider, that a company has decided to incorporate the two things that video gamers love into one product – video games and pornography. I found this image inside the game folder on my hard-drive. Literally – as I was playing the game, I really couldn’t concentrate on the mission – since I was starring at the cleavage of that Soviet bitch. I mean – its really smart of EA to do this – as they will sell lots of games with this imagine. It’s the first game I’ve played that been interactive – like I’ve been watching a movie, and then get a chance to control the outcome. The more important part of it – is the actors. I mean Jenny McCarthy as the “hero” for the Allies? That’s fucking hilarious.
